Dr Solomon A. Berahas

Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO

Solomon Berahas has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of the company since 2021. He has served as an executive and non-executive member of the Board of Directors since 1996.
He began working at Citibank in 1983, initially in New York and then in Greece, where he was appointed as Managing Director for Credit Cards and Senior Credit Officer. In 2002, he was appointed as Chief Risk Officer for Retail Banking in Greece and South-eastern Europe at Eurobank. From 2012 to 2014, he served in the Board of Directors of Piraeus Bank, representing the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund. He has sat on the Boards of Geniki Bank and Deloitte in Greece, and has worked as a business consultant in Greece and abroad.
Since 2017, Mr Berahas has been an independent non-executive member of the Board of Directors of Piraeus Bank. He is also the Vice-Chairman of the Board of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation, member of the Board of the Hellenic Society for the Protection and Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (ELEPAP) and member of the Board of the Association of S.As and Entrepreneurship.
He holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering, a M.Sc. in Information Systems and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He also holds an Advance Professional Certificate in Business Administration from the Stern School of Business, New York University, as well as a Certificate in Corporate Governance from INSEAD. He boasts extensive teaching and research experience.

Dr Petros Kapasouris

General Manager

Dr Petros Kapasouris is General Manager at Tiresias, having worked at the company for more than 25 years in various positions, such as Management Consultant, Business Development Manager, Production Manager and Head of Research and Development.

He is responsible for shaping and implementing the company's strategy, its business planning and digital transformation, as well as for developing services with added value in the new era of information, overseeing the development of new sources of data, credit scoring systems and decision-making support systems.

In the past he had worked as a business consultant at Intrasoft, responsible for the strategic design of computer systems, business organisation and business process re-engineering. He has worked in the USA as a research and development engineer at Alphatech (currently BAE - British Aerospace) in the field of aeronautics control system theory, human performance modelling and decision-making automation systems. He has also worked at GE Aviation (USA) in designing automatic control system methodologies for aircraft and helicopter engines, and at Omega Engineering (USA) as a temperature control systems engineer.

He holds a Ph.D. and a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Μ.Ι.Τ (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.

Dr Kapasouris has published papers on topics such as credit score calculation, credit check, strategy and strategic design of computer systems. His published research focuses on multi-variable control systems and their applications in the aerospace industry, algorithms for optimising resource allocation and performance evaluation of human-machine collaboration in large organisations.

Petros Giannoulis

Deputy General Manager

Mr Petros Giannoulis is a founding member of Tiresias, having worked at the company for the last 34 years. He is Deputy General Manager since July 2015, and also heads the IT and Information Division. He is responsible for the design and implementation of the Tiresias computer system, which he has been steadily and effectively supporting to date.

He had previously headed the development team of the Hellenic Bank Association charged with designing the National Interbank Payment System (DIAS S.A.). He has also worked as IT Manager at Union Carbide Hellas, primarily engaging in research and development of commercial and industrial applications.

Mr Giannoulis was also head of applications development at Hellenic Aerospace Industry for the design/development of the company’s Automated Production Control System.

Finally, he has worked in Greece as an analyst at the DOXIADIS BROS Graphotechniki S.A. company for the creation of the National Public Investments Programme of the Ministry of Coordination, as well as in the USA at the companies ATLAS PAINTING & SHEETING CO and AMERICAN BRIDGE PAINTING INC.

He has extensive experience in the coordination and implementation of projects, working group staffing and supervision, project management, contract negotiation, financial analysis of projects, etc.

Mr Giannoulis holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Youngstown State University of Ohio. In addition to his formal qualifications, he has attended seminars held by the largest IT companies in Greece and abroad, and has participated in interbank payment system conferences at a global level, representing the Hellenic Bank Association.

Aristovoulos Kladis

Deputy General Manager

Mr Aristovoulos Kladis is Deputy General Manager at Tiresias.

He has been working in the banking industry for more than 43 years. He began his career at the Hellenic Bank Association in 1978, working in collection of information from Courts of the Peace and Land Registries before heading the Court Information Office (collection/processing/forwarding of information to Banks).

He joined Tiresias when it was founded and, as a Computerisation executive, developed numerous applications over the course of ten years, including the online system for providing information to Banks, the Credit Consolidation System, etc.

Taking on the posts of Deputy Manager and Manager of Information, he organised and expanded the network for the collection of information from the entirety of Greece (collection of information from Greek Courts of First Instance/Courts of the Peace/Land Registries). Having been appointed as Public Service Manager, he organised and launched the operations of the Division in question (reception of the general public, call centre).

In 2017, he was appointed Manager of the Out-of-court Debt Settlement (Workout) Mechanism (Law 4469/2017). He organised and operated the Interbank Centre of the OCW - HUB, cooperating and communicating with banks and State bodies (Independent Authority for Public Revenue, National Social Security Fund, Special Secretariat for Private Debt Management).

Thanks to his vast experience and solid educational background, he heads the following Divisions: Public Service, Interbank Services, Operational Support, Security, as well as the Procurement Sub-Division, ensuring their proper operation.

He holds a degree from the Department of Economics of the University of Athens, as well as a degree in IT - Computer System Analysis. He is a member of the NPL Committee operating at the Hellenic Bank Association and has attended numerous seminars, conferences and training events.
